About Shalita
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, is a Spiritual Herbalist, Community Organizer and Author that believes in holistically supporting BIPOC Leaders and Community Activists in strengthening and revitalizing their communities, while creating a healing space that encourages their self-care and overall well-being. She has studied under Master Herbalists, Karen Rose, as a Sacred Vibes Apprentice and Iya Sobande Greer, founder of NCB School of Herbalism and Holistic Health and is a 2023 graduate of ECO City Farm’s Beginner Farmer Program. She dreams of being a Bougie Farmer someday, applying her Urban Agriculture training and 10 years of gardening experience to bring Black Leaders back to the land, their ancestors and their own healing journeys.
Over the past 20 years, Shalita has launched and expanded nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that have served vulnerable and under-resourced populations. Mrs. O’Neale also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Masters of Social Work Degree with a primary concentration of Management and Community Organization and a specialization of Social Action and Community Development from the University of Maryland Baltimore.
